The ability to reach unity in diversity will be the beauty and test of our civilisation. Religions are the different roads converging to the same point”
Mahatma Ghandi, 1908
Mission
- Social reintegration of humanity through listening to, communicating with and learning from ancient, indigenous and traditional wisdom in a contemporary holistic, artistic and educative framework.
- Supporting indigenous and traditional peoples to reintegrate their cultures and re-emerge as empowered and viable individuals and communities.
- Teaching, demystifying and expounding these ideas and practices to their own communities and the Western dominant culture.
- Assisting the Western dominant culture in finding its traditional roots; learning from non-Western cultures and releasing the need to control and aggressively pursue ‘others’ in an imperialistic way.
- We understand and promote body/mind/soul connection and healing.
Vision
- Bringing cultures together in harmony and social integration through fine arts, performing arts and multi-media.
- Healing humanity’s social disintegration with love, compassion and understanding.
- Humanity is searching together for love and a deeper connection with the soul, the earth and society. Cultural rituals and social integration over a nice cup of tea!
- To create a centre of depth, understanding, compassion and joy of worldwide significance that will lead in the raising of consciousness in a holistic framework for all humanity.
“Let us not make a mistake that the hunger is only for a piece of bread. The hunger of today is so much greater: For love – To be wanted, to beloved, to be cared for, to be somebody.”
Mother Teresa
HISTORY OF TAP GALLERY
TAP has provided a space, opportunity and resources for up and coming artists; musicians; actors; poets and other performers; film-makers and allied community participants. TAP is a non-profit community based enterprise at the emerging and professional spectrums of the arts. TAP offers networking opportunities across all levels of society not available in the elite and avant-garde communities by fostering goodwill amongst people in the indigenous, traditional and minority groups that the dominant groups tend to overshadow and often exploit. This is something that no matter how commercial TAPESTRY becomes will always be maintained as a core value of the new structure.
